Objective

Study of the legal and economic regime of water resources.

Activities

They will be mainly focused on the following topics:

• Water economy unit
• Unique characteristics of water as an economic resource.
• Global framework of the economic water management.
• Economic assessment of conservation and saving policies.
• Study about the feasibility of introducing "water markets". The price of water.
• Studies about the social and private costs of the alternative water uses. Estimation of the social cost of water in different regions and for different farmers. Coordination proposals according to the CAP guidelines.
• Studies about water and environmental Policies, both regional and local, within the European and national framework, as the basis for a sustainable development and for the solution of the economic and social conflicts related to the use of water.
